Alice (Joseph) Nakles, 92, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The daughter of John and Sadie (Jarrouj) Joseph, she was born December 2, 1916 in Portage, PA.Mrs. Nakles lived most of her life in Blairsville.She was a very active member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years.Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Edward Nakles, whom she married November 5, 1939; three sons, John M. Nakles and wife, Raye of Ludowici, GA; Robert Nakles and wife, Jane of Sterling, VA and Donald Nakles and wife, Sally of Avon Lake, OH; a daughter, Shirley Bryner and husband, Barry of Altoona; nine grandchildren, Maribeth Wesesky and husband, Mark, Matthew Bryner, Gary Nakles, Michael Nakles, Jessica Blanchard and husband, Seth, Rebecca Nakles, Katharine Nakles, Margaret Nakles and Nathaniel Nakles; a great grandson, Luke Wesesky; two sisters, Helen Faye of Pittsburgh and Ellen Herterich of San Marcos, CA.She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Albert Joseph and Simon Joseph and four sisters, Julia Koory, Bessie Haddad, Margaret Thomas and Milia Tumeh.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, with Rev. John McMannus officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
