Carl Leon Devinney Jr., 80, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The son of Carl L. Sr. and Ruth (Goodlin) Devinney, he was born June 24, 1928 in Blairsville, PA.Mr. Devinney lived his entire life in Blairsville and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of the US Army.Prior to his retirement, he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.He is survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Cappo and husband, Raymond of Blairsville and four nephews, John Devinney Jr. of Greenville, SC; Michael Devinney of Miami, FL; Jeffrey Cappo of Woodstock, VA and Robert Cappo of Blairsville.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Devinney Sr.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
