William P. Grguric, 92, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The son of Thomas and Mildred (Golub) Grguric, he was born November 15, 1916 in Braddock Hills, PA.Mr. Grguric was of the catholic faith and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. from 1933-1942.He served two tours of duty in the Army during World War II, receiving two purple hearts and 12 medals of honor.Prior to his retirement, he worked as an aide for the VA Hospital in California.Surviving are a sister, Ann Szersko of Hartford, CT and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Frank, Thomas, Nicholas and George Grguric and two sisters, Frances Smith and Alice Gerrity.There will be no visitation.A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be private.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion #0407.Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N.
