Robert L. "Bummy" Dennison, 71, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The son of Matthew and Carrie (Johnson) Dennison, he was born September 14, 1937 in Rankin, PA.Bummy had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.He graduated from Sewickley High School in 1957 and was a member of the Pittsburgh Nighthawks Motorcycle Club.He enjoyed doing electrical work and could fix almost anything.Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was employed by Derry Westinghouse for 32 years.Surviving are his wife, Mamie L. (Williams) Dennison whom he married November 28, 1957; two daughters, R. Machelle Dennison of Pittsburgh and Delana C. Clayton of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Ketisha Lewis, Shauna Robinson, Sheldon Clayton and Kia Clayton; three great grandchildren, Sydney, Keshaun and A.J.; three brothers, Matthew Dennison of Akron, OH; Charles E. Dennison of Pittsburgh and Joseph L. Dennison of Fayetteville, NC; five sisters, Eleanor Anthony of Pittsburgh; Mary Bivins of East Pittsburgh; Flossie Dennison of Pittsburgh; Shirley Coleman of Irwin and Doris Jean Dennison of Irwin.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Dennison and a sister, Janie Ross.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church, Blairsville, with Rev. Russell Whitfield Sr. officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
