Robert Thomas Sigafoes, Sr., 68, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009 at his home.The son of Frank W. and Mary E. (Stein) Sigafoes, he was born August 10, 1940 in New Alexandria, PA.Mr. Sigafoes was of the Presbyterian faith.After working for HMS Industries, Blairsville, for 20 years, retiring in 1980, he was self-employed by Sigbet Manufacturing. He was an avid golfer and coached the Moose Little League team in the 70's.He was devoted to his loving family.Surviving are his wife, Naomi J. (Harris) Sigafoes, whom he married on July 21, 1959; a son, William Sigafoes and wife, Darlya and a daughter, Connie Schrack, all of Blairsville; five grandchildren, Eric Schrack and wife, Courtney; Heather Kuhns and husband, Jody; Tonya Ganoe and husband, Greggory; Lisa Sigafoes and fiancé, Matt and Noelle Sigafoes and fiancé, Ron; six grandchildren, Leah, Madeline, Grace, Eden, Olivia and Macey.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert T. Sigafoes Jr., and two brothers, George and Oliver Sigafoes.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.Interment will be private.
