William Arthur "Bumper" Roble, 44, of Huntington Beach, California formerly of Latrobe, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 while exploring in Peru.The son of Anna L. (Michel) Roble of Latrobe, PA and the late William Matthew Roble, he was born April 28, 1964 in Latrobe, PA.He was a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School in 1982, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years (once a Marine, always a Marine) being discharged as a corporal. He attended the University of California, Irvine, earning a BA in Anthropology and was employed by Western Digital in Los Angeles as a certified computer technician.He was a parachutist, scuba diver, film editor, writer of screen plays, books and poetry. His love of music led him to be the guitar player and vocalist in the LA band "Take Cover" as well as writing some original songs. His other love was to travel which took him to Korea where he was an English instructor for three years, China, Japan, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, India and his next to last destination of Peru. He was fluent in the languages of Spanish and Korean.Bill is survived by his mother; siblings, two brothers, Matthew (Kathy) of West Chester and Steven of Torrance, CA; four sisters, Ann Roble of Latrobe; Toni (Stanley) Apryasz of Blairsville; Rita Roble of Scottdale and Beth (Surya) Sundaram of Colorado Springs, CO; six nephews and four nieces who will miss his laughter, Charles and Joseph Roble, Holly Apryasz Best, Raymond and Joshua Apryasz, Eric and Daniel Roble and Dhamanika, Chandra and Dhene Sundaram and one great niece, Cecilia Apryasz Best.He was preceded in death by his father; and his brother and hero, Joseph Roble, USMC. He had written a book which was published by Writer's Club Press titled "Just One" in Joe's memory.Semper Fidelis and Carpe Diem, Bumper, you knew and lived those mottoes well. Farewell to our "Happy Wanderer".The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Sunday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407."Oh, may I go a-wandering, Until the day I die! Oh, may I always laugh and sing, Beneath God's clear blue sky!"
