Edna Elizabeth (Stuchell) Allen, 95, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of Ashbal Anderson and Ida Permillia (Robinson) Stuchell, she was born March 24, 1913 in Indiana, PA.Mrs. Allen was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville. She was a former member of Rebecca Lodge, Blairsville Chapter #166 Order of the Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth, Indiana.She was an avid bowler and bingo player and was a member of Crazy Eights Card Club.She loved traveling and visiting with her family.Prior to her retirement, she worked for Glasser's and Thelma's Clothing, Blairsville.Surviving are two daughters, Dolores "Dee" Piper of Seville, Ohio and Elaine Jellison and husband, Joe of Blairsville; 15 grandchildren, Jean (Piper) Schuster, Greg Piper, Larry Piper, Judy (Piper) Bielecki, Glen Piper, Janet (Piper) Hozan, Todd Warnick, Robin Allen, Beverly (Allen) Reese, Brian Allen, Roger Allen, Barbara (Allen) Adams, Michael Allen, Patrick Allen and Mark Allen; 32 great grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, D. Clyde Allen in 1981; two sons, D. Clyde Allen Jr. and Richard Thomas Allen; a grandson, Daniel Wayne Piper; six brothers, Ralph, Clarence, Robert, Clyde, Howard and Edward; five sisters, Mabel Robertson, Helen Geesey, Margaret Peterson, Alice Stuchell and Martha Stuchell and a son-in-law, James F. Piper in 2006.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, 137 N.
