Frank Romano, Jr., 61, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA.The son of Frank Romano Sr. and Joanna (Cader) Romano, he was born July 11, 1946 in West Leechburg, PA.Mr. Romano graduated from Leechburg High School in 1965 and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He loved sports, especially the Pitt Panthers. He retired in 1992,as a coal miner, from Helen Mineand was currently employed by Classic Industries, Latrobe.Surviving are his wife, Sandra F. (Wallace) Romano whom he married on October 24, 1969; a son, Frank E. Romano and wife, Melody of Blairsville; a grandson, Frank D. Romano; a half-brother, Louis Cader of Ford City; two half-sisters, Mary Wilson and husband, Donald of Oxnard, California and Cecelia Gapinski and husband, Frank of Allegheny Twp.; two nieces and two nephews whom Frank helped to raise, Paula Soufl, Donald Miles, Michael Miles and Michele "FeFe" Milburn; several great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; three half-brothers; a sister-in-law, Linda Miles and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Gladys Wallace. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Prayer Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home with Fr. Chester J. Raimer officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PAMilitary services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
