Albert A. Root, Sr., 75, of Yatesboro, PA formerly of Pulaski, PA passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008 in Blacklick Twp., Indiana County, PA.The son of Chester Thomas Root and Estella Almira (Shawder) Root Wise, he was born February 5, 1933 in West Middlesex, PA. Mr. Root attended the Mt. Union Bible Church, Yatesboro and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed going to tractor and steam engine shows, traveling and camping. He also enjoyed running beagles with his son-in-law, Kevin.Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was employed as a truck driver.Surviving are his wife, Judith A. (Byers) Root whom he married on May 2, 1959; two sons, Chester T. Root II and wife, Sally of Sunbury, PA and Albert A. Root and wife, Carisa of Sandy Lake, PA; two daughters, Becky Peters and husband Ronald of Texas and Jody Brazeal and husband, Deric of Azle, Texas; son-in-law, Kevin McEwen of Sandy Lake; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers,A. DanielRoot of Sharon, PA; William Owen Root of Pulaski, PA and Richard A. Root of Barstow, Calif; a half-brother, James Wise of New Castle, PA; four sisters, Mary Louise Patton of Pulaski, PA; Welwynn Sipe of New Castle, PA; Daisy Withers of New Castle, PA;Karen Wellhausen of New Castle, PA; and a half-sister, Molly WiseHe was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Trudy McEwen; a brother, Thomas Root and a sister, Beverly Ann Powell Lary.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. Monday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Jack Peters officiating.Interment will be private.
