Harvey Wayne Bollinger, 79, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The son of Earl H. and Olive L. (Switzer) Bollinger, he was born May 25, 1929 in Brenizer, PA.Mr. Bollinger attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans of Ligonier, the Retired Enlisted Association of Pittsburgh, Derry American Legion Post #0324, Blairsville VFW Post #5821, Millwood Sportsman's and the Kingston Veterans and Sportsman's Club.He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired in 1953 as a corporal with nine years service.Mr. Bollinger was very active with the veteran's organization in Blairsville doing funeral services for veterans.Surviving are three brothers, George H. Bollinger of Lancaster; Lawrence "Butch" Bollinger and wife, Glenda of Blairsville; Jay Raymond Bollinger and wife, Denise of Latrobe; a half-brother, Clarence P. Rhea of Jefferson, Ohio; two sisters, Anna Drury of Wildwood, Florida and Netta Varner of Latrobe; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lois I. (Fryer) Bollinger on August 31, 2001.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
