Shirley Ann (Jasper) Baker, 73, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, June 23, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of Robert and Eleanor (Graff) Jasper, she was born September 19, 1934 in Blairsville, PA.Mrs. Baker was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.She enjoyed restoring antiques.She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1952 and worked for AT&T for 27 years, retiring in 1996.Surviving are her husband, David W. Baker Jr. whom she married on April 11, 1953; three sons, Daniel B. Baker of Blairsville; David R. Baker of Blairsville; Darrin J. Baker and wife, Tricia of Blairsville and a daughter, Darcy Borbonus and husband, David of Blairsville; nine grandchildren, Shelby Stumpf, Greg Gruda, Justin Borbonus, Dana Baker, Matthew Baker, Alex Baker, Andrew Baker, Austin Baker and David Baker; one great grandson and a brother, James Jasper and wife, Barbara of Blairsville.She was preceded in death by her parents.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
