Marie L. (Kudej) Vinansky, 76, Blairsville, PA formerly of Scranton, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA after a courageous battle with breast cancer.A daughter of Joseph and Julia (Haryjas) Kudej, she was born September 9, 1931 in Avoca, PA.For the past 13 years, she resided in Blairsville with her daughter, Sharon Angelo and husband, Anthony. She appreciated their love and care. She could not ask for a more devoted daughter and son-in-law.Mrs. Vinansky was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Moosic, PABefore her retirement, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Green Ridge Nursing Home and as a personal care home health aide.A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed her daily ritual of reciting the rosary, reading her cherished prayer cards and spending time with the family pets, Shi Tzus Myng and Buster.She is survived by a son, Joseph J. Vinansky and wife, Lauren and grandson, Nicholas of Peckville; a daughter, Sharon Angelo and husband, Anthony of Blairsville; a grandson, Santino Angelo of Santa Rosa, California; a granddaughter, Anicia Gau and husband, Shane and great-granddaughter, Ruby of Ashburn, Virginia and a brother, Edmund Kudej of Hughestown.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joseph J. Vinansky Sr. in 1995.The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Beacon Ridge for their kindness and compassion in caring for Marie during her final days.The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday (June 3) at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home with Monsignor Larry Kiniry officiating. Interment will be at 12:00 P.M.
