Hugh M. Boring, 80, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his home.The son of Anson E. and Elsie (Riddle) Boring, he was born February 2, 1928 in Superior, PA.Mr. Boring was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Indiana and Blairsville VFW Post #5821.He was a Care Net volunteer and enjoyed praying for other people.He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War and prior to retiring, he worked in manufacturing.Surviving are his wife, Shirley F. (Blattenberger) Boring whom he married on November 27, 1954; two sons, Bryan Boring of Erie and Gregory Boring and wife, Lisa of Black Lick; a daughter, Kimberly Ondrizek and husband, Ted of Strongstown; five grandchildren, David Perry, Kristina Elliott, Melissa Koscho, Alyssa Boring and Paula Boring; three great grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Boring of Erie; six sisters, Wanda Clawson of Blairsville; Letty Wandless, Rhea Akerly, Barbara Cyparski and Donna DeAndria all of Erie and Jackie Hiner of Cory.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles Boring and Anson Boring Jr.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Fisher officiating.Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, West Wheatfield Twp., PA.Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice, Indiana Co., 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
