Frances Lowella (Davison) Johnston, 88, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at St. Andrews Village, Indiana, PA.The daughter of James Clair and Hermie F. (Thornburg) Davison, she was born April 30, 1919 in Indiana, PA.Mrs. Johnston was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Indiana.She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1937. She worked in Washington, D.C. for the navy department from 1943 to 1946. She also worked for the state of Pennsylvania as a labor department inspector and retired from PennDOT.Surviving are a brother, James Davison of Iowa; three sisters, Nevada Ewing of Illinois; Virginia Davison of California and Marybelle Armstrong of Oklahoma and 25 nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John W. "Walt" Johnston in 1964; two brothers, John K. Davison and Clair W. "Dave" Davison and two sisters, Grace Wolf and an infant sister, Sarah Ellen.There will be no visitation. Services and interment in Blairsville Cemetery will be private and held at the convenience of the family.Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N.
