Arnold Joseph DeBiase, 84, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at the William Penn Care Center, Penn Twp., PA.The son of Oreste and Amelia (Pezzi) DeBiase, he was born May 3, 1923 in Blairsville, PA.Mr. DeBiase lived his entire life in Blairsville.He was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, B.P.O.E #406 and was their organist for 20 years, American Legion #407 and the Disabled American Veterans.He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during World War II.Mr. DeBiase was a self-employed photographer for 40 years and worked for the Greensburg Catholic Diocese on the Catholic Accent from 1964-1984.Surviving are a son, John P. DeBiase of Bailey, Colorado; a daughter, Ellen Thomas and husband, David of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, Lorie Thomas, Peter DeBiase and Jill DeBiase; two brothers, Dante DeBiase and Italo DeBiase, both of Blairsville.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Brigid (McCarthy) DeBiase in 1997.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.B.P.O.E. #406 will have services in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 P.M.
