Carrie Emma (Palmer) Lockard, 93, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.A daughter of Edward A. and Finis (Shannon) Palmer, she was born April 6, 1915 in Black Lick, PA.Mrs. Lockard lived her entire life in Black Lick and attended the Black Lick Free Methodist Church.Surviving are two sons, Harold M. Lockard and wife, Louise of Blairsville and Marvin B. Lockard and wife, Dorothy of Black Lick; two daughters, Barbara I. Lockard of Black Lick and Ruth Henry and husband, Leslie of Black Lick; eight granddaughters, Debra Ankney, Brenda Smatlak, Cindy Weaver, Carolyn Clayton, Becky Daugherty, Cathy Pruszenski, Pam Faulkner and Bethany Lockard; 14 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Noble G. Lockard on December 1, 1991; a brother, David Palmer and five sisters, Mary Shirley, Ollie Shirley, Ethel Lockard, Margaret Shirley and Dorothy Shirley.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Fred W. Craig officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the Black Lick Free Methodist Church.
