Dorothy Catherine (Smith) Culp, 92, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.The daughter of Oliver Perry and Cora (Fink) Smith, she was born August 18, 1915 in Youngwood, PA.Mrs. Culp attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, PA.She enjoyed bowling and making her famous chocolate chip cookies for all her grandchildren.She worked for 29 years at Torrance State Hospital, retiring on August 30, 1980.Surviving are two sons, William O. Culp and wife, Darlene of Blairsville and Glenn A. Culp and wife, Claudine of Pickerington, Ohio; three grandchildren, Darla Klingensmith and husband, Robert; Kevin Culp and wife, June and Sharon Jones and husband, Randy; five great grandchildren, Christin Klingensmith, Robert Klingensmith, William Klingensmith, Sara Culp and Hannah Culp; and a sister, Nancy Harbaugh of Youngwood, PA.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Edward Culp in 1982; three brothers, Richard Smith, Hiram "Pete" Smith and Woodrow "Pud" Smith and two sisters, Margaret Reid and Roberta Smith.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. John McMannus officiating.Interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg, PA.
