Laura Louise Flecker, 83, of New York, New York passed away on January 22, 2008 in Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York City, NY.A daughter of Louis A. and Laura (Feitshans) Flecker, she was born October 31, 1924 in Rayne Twp., Indiana Co., PA.She was former member of the Bethel Lutheran Church (New Life Lutheran Church), Dixonville, where she sang in the choir.Louise graduated from Marion Center High School in 1944 and enjoyed drawing. She spent over thirty years as a housekeeper, nurse and companion to members of the Graff family in Blairsville, Oakmont and New York City.Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, David and Myra Flecker of Moon Twp.; a brother-in-law, Alan Oaks of Dayton, OH; two nieces, Pamela Webb of Ambridge and Nancy Petrella of Aliquippa and four nephews, James Flecker of Moon Twp., Ira Flecker of Eighty Four, Douglas Oaks of Matthew, NC and Eric Oaks of Washington, DC.She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Lois Flecker, Marguerite (Flecker) Ford and Martha (Flecker)Oaks.The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. John McMannus officiating.Interment will be in New Life Lutheran Church Cemetery, Rayne Twp., PA.
