Emma F. (Salmon) Saver, 86, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, August 17, 2007 at Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of John Baptist and Pauline (LeClercq) Salmon, she was born at home on December 26, 1920 in Midway, PA.Mrs. Saver moved to Blairsville in 1950. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville and the 55 and Over Club.She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate baseball fan and enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning and baking.Mrs. Saver worked 21 years as a cook for the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District, retiring in 1984.Surviving are a son, William Saver and wife, Nancy of Natrona Heights; a daughter, Joyce Grumbling and husband, Allan of North Apollo; four grandchildren, Julie Williams, David Grumbling, Brad Saver and Brandee Sterling, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Frances Mortrey of McDonald.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 31 years, William "Vic" Saver in 1976 and four brothers, Paul, Joseph, Edward and August.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Shaffer officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
