John F. Ramsey, 71, of Winter Garden, FL formerly of Blairsville passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at his home.He was born May 21, 1936 in Indiana Co., PA, the son of Louis F. and Lula G. (Metzler) Ramsey.Mr. Ramsey was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.He served in the US Army and US Marines and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.Surviving are his wife, Sharon Ramsey; two sons, John Ramsey and wife, Patty of Wildwood, Illinois and Jody Ramsey and wife, Melissa of Wausau, Wisconsin; a stepson, John Farmer and wife, Kim of Winter Garden, Florida; seven grandchildren, Tia, Joey, Dylan, Blake and Ethan Ramsey and Ashton and Josh Farmer; a great grandchild, McKayla; a brother, Louis Ramsey and wife, Betty of Madison, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Smith of Blairsville; Jean George of Pryor, Oklahoma and Carol Ramsey of Blairsville.His parents; a sister, Alice Fishburn; a brother, Frank Ramsey; a nephew, Dustin Partridge and a special brother-in-law, Paul Smith, preceded him in death.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday with Rev. Paul L. Carter officiating.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
