Charles R. Shaffer, 68, of Avonmore, PA passed away on Friday, June 22, 2007 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA.He was born September 5, 1938 in Saltsburg, PA, a son of Albert R. and Mary A. (Clawson) Shaffer.Charlie lived in Tinsmill/Avonmore area all his life and was a retired mechanic.He is survived by a brother, Albert W. "Bill" Shaffer of Desert Hills, AZ; a sister, Mary "Tootie" Wiland of Lake Havasu, AZ; three nieces, Ronda Murphy of Avonmore; Jody Mainville of Lake Havasu, AZ and Ranee Claxton of AZ; two nephews, John R. Shaffer Jr. of Apollo and Rick Adams of Lake Havasu, AZ.His parents and a brother, John R. Shaffer Sr, preceded him in death.There will be no visitation or funeral service.A remembrance dinner will be held at Guy's Tavern, Avonmore, on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 5:30 P.M.
