Elmer E. Hogue, 83, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana.The son of Thomas and Minerva (Kirkland) Hogue, he was born April 20, 1924 in Uniontown, PA.Mr. Hogue was a member of the Independent Traditional Holiness Church, Homer City and was a former member of the Conemaugh Valley Quartet.He expressed his love of the Lord by singing.During the depression he worked at the CCC camp at Pine Grove and for 34 years he worked at Torrance State Hospital, retiring in 1984.Surviving are his wife, Barbara L. (Shank) Grafton Hogue to whom he married on November 27, 1986; two daughters, Mary Kathryn Scribner and husband, David of North Chili, NY; Pamela Rose Sudzina and husband, Nick of Lakeland, FL; two stepsons, R. Allen Grafton and wife, Cathy of Blairsville and Robert E. Grafton and wife, Mary of Clarksburg; a stepdaughter, Lori Lynne Styers and husband, John of Homer City; nine grandchildren, Heather Doche, Hillary Finder, Brandon Scribner, Amanda Westerfield, Jennifer Grafton Melissa Grafton, Jason Grafton, Brian Poydence and Lance Styers; seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Ada Angelo of Uniontown; Wanda Sagosky of Masontown; Twila Hiner of East Brady and Clara Rafitz of Uniontown and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Grdgon Hogue in 1984; three brothers, Alfred, Clifford and Virgil; three sisters, Alice Murray, Alberta Jennings and an infant sister, Evelyn, and a stepdaughter, Debbie Poydence.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Charles L.
