Nancy T. (Burkley) Fortunato, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of Joseph L. and Rose Ann (Gray) Burkley, she was born October 18, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA.Mrs. Fortunato was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.She had worked for G. C. Murphy Company, Blairsville.She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Michael J. Fortunato whom she married on November 26, 1949; two sons, James M. Fortunato and wife, Mary Ann of Willow Grove, Pa; David A. Fortunato and wife, Diane of Blairsville; a daughter, Janice Newcomer and husband, James of Latrobe; seven grandchildren, Amanda Newcomer, Marie Fortunato, Katie Newcomer, Andrea Fortunato, Brian Newcomer, Michael Fortunato and Melissa Newcomer and a brother, Charles Burkley of Greensburg.She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael and a brother, Joseph Burkley.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Sunday.A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday in the SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
