Elder Clair Smith, 93, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.He was born May 30, 1913 in Blairsville, PA, the son of Robert Elder and Myrtle (Swasy) Smith.Mr. Smith was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church and graduated from Blairsville High School in 1934.He retired with 27 years of service from Blairsville Machine Products, operated a dairy farm and was a substitute rural mail carrier.Surviving are two sons, John E. Smith and wife, Ruth of Blairsville; Donald C. Smith and wife, Karen of Blairsville and a daughter, Shirley Jean Rook of Blairsville; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sandra, Eric, Jason, Michael and Brian Smith; three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel and Grace; and a brother, Glenn Smith of Blairsville.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eva Luella (Shields) Smith on May 1, 200l; a son, Richard E. Smith on February 4, 2006; two brothers, Raymond and Ernest Smith and a sister, Loella Greene.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jason L. McQueen officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
