Marian Virginia Bergland Wilson - August 31, 1916 - February 9, 2007. Marian passed away peacefully following a battle with pneumonia. She was born in New Castle, PA the third of five children to Axel Nils Bergland and Anna Marie Nelson Bergland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Wilson, her sisters; Ruth Shotts, Hazel Owens, Barbara Miller Baniel and brother, Arthur Bergland. Marian is survived her daughter, Kristina Meighan and husband, Jim of Blairsville, PA and her son, Robert A. Wilson and his wife, Mary of Lyndhurst, OH. Also surviving are grandchildren, Patrick Meighan and wife, Teresa of San Mateo, CA; Jamie Meighan Skirboll and husband, Aaron of Blairsville, PA; Emily Wilson Weber and husband, Michael of Pittsburgh, PA and Carolyn Wilson Roche and husband, Daniel of Arlington, VA. Six great grandchildren complete the family - Gavin, Emerson, Hank, Maddox, Marcus and Maxine. Marian was keenly interested in the activities of her grandchildren and attended as many events as possible throughout the years - Little League, cheerleading events, dance, musicals, football games and wrestling matches.She graduated from New Castle High School where she eventually was employed as a secretary for 20 years. She also attended Bethany College.She was lovingly cared for by the staff at Keeper of the Flame in Blairsville during the last year of her life.Visitation will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA on Monday, February 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.A second visitation will take place at the Cunningham Funeral Home in New Castle on Saturday, February 17 from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M., with a brief service to follow at noon.Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, New Castle, PAIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marian's name to a charity of your choice.
