Charles Franklin Dillon, 84, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.He was born October 27, 1922 in Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA, a son of Matthew P. and Julia Smith Dillon.Mr. Dillon was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran and was the owner of Dillon Pallet Co., Blairsville for 35 years, retiring in 1995.Surviving are six daughters, Linda Sterley of Indiana; Patricia McElhoes and husband, Patrick of Blairsville; Debra Lyons of Blairsville; Teresa Lowman and husband, Ronald of Blairsville; Donna Crawford and husband, Richard of Blairsville and Pamela Busler and husband, Michael of Dunkirk, MD; two sons, Ronald C. Dillon of Panama City, FL and Matthew J. Dillon and wife, Anna of Oklahoma City, OK; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary E. Didion Dillon on April 1, 2003; two infant children and a sister, Malvina Yazvec.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Thursday.Funeral rites at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA for Mr. Dillon consisting of the Liturgy of the Word at 10:00 A.M. Friday with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
