W. Glenn Wasson, 83, Latrobe, PA formerly of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.He was born June 30, 1923 in Brownsville, Fayette Co., PA, the son of William A. and Elsie Swietzer Wasson.Mr. Wasson lived in Blairsville for five years. He enjoyed the piano, reading, playing scrabble and scripture memorization.He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army and retired from Yellow Cab of Pittsburgh in 2000.Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Maier and Patty Ford, both of Morgantown, West Virginia and Barbara Carey of Ashburn, VA and a son, Michael Wasson of Industry.He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Martin; a son, William; two sisters, Audrey Cornell and Clova Miller and a brother, Robert Wasson.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Paul L. Carter officiating.Interment will be private.
