Herbert L. Walter, 77, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The son of Hugo and Augusta White Walter, he was born December 10, 1928 in Bronx, New York.Mr. Walter lived in Stroudsburg prior to moving to Blairsville one year ago.He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army and worked as a draftsman for the United States government for 40 years.Surviving are two children, a son, David A. Walter and fiancé, Laurie Alexander of Blairsville; a daughter, Jennifer Cole and husband, Clay of Fayetteville, Arkansas and two grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gordon.A private visitation will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.
