Richard L. "Dick" Harshbarger, 77, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Friday, October 6, 2006 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The son of Lester and Ruth Gearhart Harshbarger, he was born June 26, 1929 in McVeytown, PA.Mr. Harshbarger enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Lady.He retired from Season All Industries, Indiana, and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Surviving is a daughter, Rita Blystone and husband, Joe of Blairsville; a daughter-in-law, Deneen Harshbarger of Blairsville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Harshbarger and wife, Mary Ellen of McVeytown and Ronald J. Harshbarger of South Carolina; a very special friend, Becky Enos of Blairsville and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard on September 12, 2006 and an infant son.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald D. Mershimer officiating.Interment will be in Luther Chapel Cemetery, Coral, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
