Ralph Duane Crusan, 79, of Tunnelton, PA passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Kittanning Care Center, Kittanning, PA.The son of David M. and Effie Horrell Crusan, he was born April 26, 1927 in Tunnelton, PA.Mr. Crusan lived his entire life in Tunnelton.He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his beloved dog Taffy.He was a US Navy veteran of World War II.Prior to his retirement in 1988, he was employed by Federal Lab for 44 years.Surviving are seven sons, R. Duane Crusan of Minnesota; Thomas Crusan and wife, Jennifer of Saltsburg; Darryl Crusan of Tunnelton; Donald Crusan of Torrance; David Crusan of Derry; Samuel Crusan and wife, Diana of Tunnelton and James Crusan and wife, Patty of Slickville; four daughters, Dorothy Gallo and husband, Gary of Homer City; Gerry Jellison and husband, Duane of Blairsville; Mary Jo McClure and husband David of Harrisburg and Lisa Fink of Blairsville; 30 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Roxie Bruzda and husband, Joseph of Tunnelton.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary L. Quick Crusan in 1999; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; three brothers, Merle, Harry and Samuel Crusan and two sisters, Ruby Murphy and Nellie McGuire.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Susan Porch Lantz officiating.Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Conemaugh Twp., PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
