Richard 'Big Rick' Harshbarger, 39, of Blairsville, PA. Born September 8, 1967, Indiana, PA went to be with the Lord September 12, 2006 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA with his loving family and friends by his side.Rick was a member at the Free Methodist Church, Black Lick.Formerly, he was a correctional officer at the Indiana County Jail. Rick enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He also had a great love for motorcycles, the Steelers, outdoor activities and his animals. He was a gentle giant who loved life and people. Surviving is his loving wife, Deneen D. Richardson Harshbarger whom he married April 11, 1992; three beautiful children, daughters, Tiffany L. Campbell of West Lebanon, and Kayleen M. Harshbarger of Blairsville and son, Corry Harshbarger of Blairsville; granddaughter, his pride and joy, Brianna Taylor; father Richard L. Harshbarger of Greensburg; sister Rita Blystone of Blairsville; nephew Buddy Harmon and niece Kandice Palmer; the best mother-in-law, Sandy Hayden; sister-in-law Kim and husband Duane Berlin and nephew Dominic; also survived by many very special aunts, uncles, and cousins; and best friend Beth 'Bethy' Branthoover.He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta 'Birdie' Kwisnek on June 8, 2005; Uncle Jim Bruner and Aunt Gladys Bruner; father-in-law Walter 'Butch' Cline.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.
