Herbert Francis Henigin, 73, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at his home.He was born October 24, 1932 in Gray Station, PA, the son of Herbert W. and Mary Ann Flynn Henigin.Mr. Henigin was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, the UMWA and the AARP.He graduated from Derry High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.He was employed by Vulcan Mold, Latrobe, from 1951-1953, Blairsville Westinghouse Electric from 1956-1962, Leechburg Mining Co. from 1963-1981 and worked for four years at the Homer City Coal Cleaning Plant, retiring in 1985. Mr. Henigin enjoyed wood crafting.Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Cecelia S. Zona Henigin, whom he married September 3, 1955; seven children, Richard H. Henigin and wife, Robin of Blairsville; Ronald J. Henigin and wife, Amy Jo of Blairsville; Susan A. McConnell and husband, Paul of Blairsville; Joseph S. Henigin and wife, Cheryl of Blairsville; David F. Henigin and wife, Kimberly S. of Indiana; Lisa Salley and husband, Steve of Sterling, VA; and Patrick L. Henigin and wife, Kimberly A. of Indiana; 15 grandchildren, Stephanie Moore, Matthew Henigin, Ada Henigin, Nellie Henigin, William McConnell, Alexis McConnell, Joshua Henigin, Jordyn Henigin, Karlee Henigin, John David Henigin, Benjamin Salley, Zachary Salley, Alexander Salley, Katherine Henigin and Garrett Henigin; two great grandchildren, Nicholas Moore and Maxwell Bencic; three brothers, George Henigin and wife, Amy of Blairsville; Sam Henigin of Blairsville and the Rev. James Henigin and wife, Ruth of Blairsville.He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, John in 1934.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday at the SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
