Danny Lee Baird, 52, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at his home.A son of John A. and Lillian E. Rossman Baird, he was born August 17, 1953 in Johnstown, PA.He was a US Army veteran having served from 1971-1974. Dan was a former coal miner and in recent years, he was a valued employee at Fernlea Flowers, Homer City. He loved hunting, fishing, Steeler football and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.Surviving are his wife, Donna P. Gardner Baird; four children, Richard P. Redilla of Evansville, Indiana; Jonathan L. Baird of Brush Valley; Candice L. Baird and Brandon L. Baird both of Black Lick; sadly missed by grandchildren, Brandon P. and Keann R. Redilla, Gabriel A., Hannah R. and Haylee R. Baird; loved and mourned by eight surviving siblings, brothers, Albert W. Baird of New Florence and Edward A. Baird of Prayerville, Missouri; sisters, Margaret P. Lichtenfels and Marlene D. Crusan both of Bolivar; Rene L. Gardener and Brenda J. Shirley both of Black Lick; Rebecca A. Shearer of Reynoldsville and his twin sister, Donna L. Shirley of Homer City.He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Andrew L. Baird, Aaron W. Baird, Martha "Skinny" Short and Frances J. Randolph.There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA with Rev. Gerald D. Mershimer officiating.Veteran services will be accorded at the funeral home by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
