Hazel Ruth McCurdy Gorton, 91, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of Adam and Lilly Dunmire McCurdy, she was born September 29, 1914 in Blairsville, PA.Mrs. Gorton lived her entire life in the Black Lick area and was a member of the Blairsville United Methodist Church.Surviving are two sons, Robert W. Gorton, Sr. and wife, Donna of Saltsburg and Ronald W. Gorton of Blairsville; three grandchildren, Robert W. Gorton, Jr., Ronald J. Gorton and Wendy Renee Leary; four great grandchildren, Felicia and Joseph Gorton and Carlee and Jacob Leary; a brother, Leroy Miller of Swansboro, NC and a sister, Marie Simon of Torrance. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell R. Gorton in 1972; two grandchildren, Brenda Gorton in 1969 and Anthony Gorton in 1991; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Gorton in 2002 and a brother, John Miller in 1992.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Jason L. McQueen officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
