Harry Eugene Rose, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A son of Cleveland and Mary Pottinger Rose, he was born October 10, 1923 in Latrobe, PAMr. Rose was a member of the FOE #1488 and the VFW Post #5821, both of Blairsville and the Latrobe American Legion Post #515.He was a US Army veteran of World War II.He worked at Derry Westinghouse for 22 years, retiring in 1979.Surviving are a son, Dennis E. Rose and a daughter, Diane M. Rose Santus, both of Blairsville; a granddaughter, Heather V. Santus and a sister, Susan Lawson of Blairsville, PA.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred V. Stile Rose on October 4, 1981; a brother, Samuel Rose and three sisters, Gladys Munchinski, Ruth Patti and Martha Kolish.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Fred W. Craig officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post 5821 and the American Legion.
