Marie Anna Piper Liebel, 76, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of Leroy L. and Fredricka Mikesell Piper, she was born July 12, 1929 in Cook Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA.Mrs. Liebel was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville and was a graduate of Derry High School in 1948.Surviving are her husband, Leonard C. Liebel whom she married December 2, 1971; a son, Mark R. Wallbaum and wife, Vicky of Blairsville; two daughters, Linda Reed and husband, Dean of Derry and Janet Dersch and husband, Lloyd of Springboro; 14 grandchildren, Amanda Matteo, Kerry Smith, Kimberly Reed, Melanie Bures, Bradleigh Dersch, Melissa Reed, Aharon Dersch, Kasey Reed, Chelsea Dersch, Kelsey Reed, Korey Reed, Hayleigh Dersch, Micaela Reed and Adalyn Reed; two great grandchildren, Hope Reed and Kyle Smith and two brothers, Gilbert Piper of Blairsville and Clair Piper of Indiana.She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joseph W. Wallbaum in 1965; an infant daughter in 1955; four brothers, Linley, Garvin, Leonard and Donald Piper and two sisters, Thelma McDowell and Dorothy Gaskill.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Hebron Lutheran Church, 125 N. Liberty St., Blairsville, PA with Rev. Beverly Banyay officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
