Norman L. "Dade" McGinity, 77, of Blairsville, PA (Strangford) passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana, PA.A son of Ralph and Gertrude Emery McGinity, he was born March 19, 1929 in Burrell Twp., PA.Mr. McGinity lived in Strangford his entire life and was a veteran of the US Army.Prior to his retirement, he worked at Standard Steel, Latrobe, PAHe enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and being in the outdoors.Surviving are a son, Daniel McGinity and wife, Melissa; two daughters, Debra Fisher and Darla Taylor and husband, William all of Strangford; three grandchildren, Justin Fisher, Kayla Boozer and Daniel McGinity; a brother, Richard McGinity and wife, Lois of Latrobe and two sisters, Geneva McGinity and Betty Belice, both of Strangford.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna G. "Ted" Waddle McGinity on November 23, 1981 and two brothers, Blaine and Raymond McGinity.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Jason L. McQueen officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PAVeteran services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
