Carrie Catharine Dunmire Muir, 96, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.A daughter of Robert B. and Katryn Hancock Dunmire, she was born November 3, 1909 in Black Lick, PA.Mrs. Muir was a member of the AARP, Historical Society of the Blairsville Area and Penn View Mountain Hunting Club.Surviving are four sons, Harry Muir and wife, Winifred of Blairsville; Wayne Muir and wife, Judy of New Carlisle, OH; Ralph Muir and wife, Susanne of Blairsville and William J. Muir and wife, Karen of Armagh; three daughters, Sara Jane Boring and husband, Leroy of New Florence; Margaret Brown and husband, Wally of Blairsville and Kathy Bowers and husband, Ralph of Robinson; 37 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ellsworth Muir Sr. in 1982; three sons, Fred Muir in 1974; Ellsworth Muir Jr. in 1985 and Robert Muir in 1995; a daughter, Betty Perry in 1994; four brothers, George, Irvin, Jerry and Lee Dunmire and two sisters, Lillie Miller and Margaret Petrarca.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the funeral home with Joe Traynor, Chaplain at Beacon Ridge officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
