Catherine Elizabeth Steward Clayton, 75, of Blairsville, PA (Brenizer) passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of George O. and Etter P. Jones Steward, she was born November 6, 1930 in Waterboro, SC.Mrs. Clayton was a member of the Derry Congregational Church of God in Christ, where she was actively involved on the Mother's Board. She had worked at Torrance State Hospital as an aide for 22 years, retiring in 1991.She loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite saying, "I'm blessed by the best and won't settle for nothing less!"Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Joseph Clayton whom she married on July 23, 1949; 12 children, Joseph "Wesley" Clayton and wife, Debbie of Brenizer; Don "Don Juan" Clayton and wife, Ruby of Houston, TX; Kenneth Clayton and wife Stacy of Richmond, VA; Randy Clayton and wife, Linda of Brenizer; Prince Clayton of Torrance; Jeffrey "Windy" Clayton and wife, Mary of Blairsville; Curtis Clayton of Derry; David Clayton and wife, Tracy of Blairsville; Richard "Ricky" Clayton and wife, Robin of Frederick, MD; Kenneth "Little Ben" Clayton of Washington, DC; Lorrie Jackson and husband, Charles of Blairsville and Lisa Jo Clayton of Frederick, MD; 39 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Steward and wife, Lee of California and Ronnie Steward and wife, Tracy of Blairsville; two sisters, Ruthalee Kiser of Latrobe and Lavonna Williams and husband, Crawford of Blairsville; a host of nieces and nephews and a very special nephew, Elder Reed Moore.She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward Jones and a sister, Corrine Moore.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Homegoing service in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Congregational Church of God in Christ, Derry, PA with Elder Derrick Johnson officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
