Albert Joseph Moreno, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, April 24, 2006 at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana, PA.A son of Antonio and Maria Martinelli Morini, he was born June 20, 1923 in Bolivar, PA.Mr. Moreno was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.He was a US Navy veteran of World War II.Prior to his retirement in 1989, he was employed by Torrance State Hospital as a maintenance foreman.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne J. "Jennie" Tedeschi Moreno; two daughters, Kathleen Angello and husband, Richard of Ottsville, PA and Nancy D. Moreno of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Jon Albert Angello and wife, Jennifer; Michael R. Angello and wife Kristin; three great-grandchildren, Luca Albert Angello, Isabella C. Angello and Olivia R. Angello and a sister, Velia Smyth of Latrobe.He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Charles Moreno, Victor Moreni, Francis Moreno, George Moreno, Louis Moreni and Joseph Moreni and a sister Natalie Moreni.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PAMilitary services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
