Robert Milton Bolen, 73, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2006 in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The son of Harry T. and Ruby Belle Shields Bolen, he was born November 19, 1932 in Blacklick Twp., PA.Mr. Bolen lived most of his life in the Blairsville area.Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Dietrich Industries, Blairsville, for 31 years and after retiring, he enjoyed working with Pete Stewart & Son Auctioneers and the auction crew. He enjoyed his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, baking, Steeler football, baseball and the morning McDonald's coffee club. He is survived by his wife, Violet P. Knarr Bolen whom he married June 15, 1963; two sons, Robert E. Bolen and wife, Michelle of Adamsville, TN and Michael T. Bolen and special friend, Darlene of Clarksburg; two daughters, Barbara A. Wagner and husband, Bill of Indiana and Lisa D. Bolen of Blairsville; eight grandchildren, Amanda Wagner, Hannah Bolen, Brandon Hoffer, Emily Wagner, Seth Bolen, Alexis Hoffer, Joshua Bolen and Mark Wagner; three brothers, William Bolen of Indiana; Melvin Bolen of Clarksburg and Ronald Bolen of Derry and a sister, Carrie Spudy of Pitcairn and his mother-in-law, Anna Knarr of Blairsville.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harland and Archie Bolen and two sisters, Gladys Coffman and Nellie Bolen.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev. Doug McCord officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
