James Joseph Brida, 71, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at his home.The son of Louis J. and Mary R. Endrezzi Brida, he was born April 27, 1934 in Palmerton, PA.Mr. Brida worked for 41 years at Blairsville Westinghouse, retiring in 1996 as a machinist.Surviving are two sons, Preston Brida of Black Lick, PA and James Brida of Indiana, PA and a daughter, Melanie Sleasman of Indiana, PA; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a sister, Esabelle Bassett of Cleveland, OH.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stella J. Taylor Brida on March 24, 2002; six brothers, Louis, John, Henry, William, Robert and Clarence Brida and six sisters, Delphine Patrica, Stella Usner, Henretta Dallas, Eleanor Dallas, Margaret Tedeski and Garnet Brida.At the request of Mr. Brida, there will be no visitation or memorial service. A memorial luncheon will be held from 2 to 4 P.M. Sunday, February 26, at the Black Lick Fire Hall, Black Lick, PA.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Village Alzheimer's Unit, 1155 Indian Springs Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
