Betty Jean Crites Kirkbride, 78, of Boston, VA formerly of Black Lick, PA passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2006 surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jerry O'Brien in Boston, VA.The daughter of Donald Raymond Crites and Lena Christine Hughes Crites-Wyer and stepdaughter of Milton Murray Wyer, she was born March 31, 1927 in Akron, OH.Mrs. Kirkbride attended the Black Lick Free Methodist Church. Surviving are four sons, David Kirkbride and wife, Sue of Fairfax, VA; Duane Kirkbride of Penn Run, PA; Murray Kirkbride and wife, Judy of Akron, OH and Dan Kirkbride of Harrisonburg, VA; three daughters, Sue O'Brien and husband, Jerry of Boston, VA; Crystal Flood and husband, John of Stephens City, VA and Kandi Doak and husband, Ken of Black Lick, PA; two step-daughters, Ruth Ann Grimm and Kathy Davis, both of Zanesville, OH; children of long-time companion, David Myers and wife, Pat of Las Vegas, NV; Dick Myers of Indianapolis, IN; Vickie Myers of Johnstown, PA and Butch Myers and wife, Patty of Marion Center, PA; 14 grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Kimberly, Tara, Akira and Alanna Kirkbride, Colleen Larsen, Denny and Darren O'Brien, John Jr., Brad and Michael Flood, David and Ben Doak; numerous great grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Meri Wyer Heming and husband, Ralph of Armagh, PA and their children, Meritt, Jay and Robyn Nikole; an uncle, Roy Crites of Alloy, WV; two aunts, Nell Hughes of Akron, OH and Glenna Ocheltree of Webster Springs, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; long-time companion, Harold D. "Red" Myers; infant brother and a nephew, Michael Heming.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut Street, Blairsville, PA. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev.
