Bruno Michael (Plato) Plachta, 90, of Blairsville, PA (Brenizer) passed away on Friday, December 23, 2005 at his home.The son of Michael S. and Mary Ann Justina Plachta, he was born January 8, 1915 in Mt. Pleasant, PA.Mr. Plachta was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.He had worked in the Brenizer Mine and was the last surviving Brenizer miner of the pit crew. He also worked at Blairsville Floor Covering for 25 years. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Ruth I. Rugh Plachta whom he married September 9, 1955; three sons, Thomas M. Plato and wife, Peggy of Derry, PA; Richard J. Plachta of Newport News, VA and Mark A. Plachta and wife, Darcy of Derry, PA; two daughters, Deanna J. Beck and husband, Lanny and Denise J. Plachta and friend, Andy Wakinshaw all of Derry, PA; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Fiorina of Latrobe, PA and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hazel Bennett Plachta in 1946 and four sisters, Frances Gasbarro, Lillian Mosser, Mary Hanlin and Josephine Hamrock.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Monday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
