Kay Y. "Jaggers" Bowser Kirkland, 61, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at her home.A daughter of Arthur C. and Helen Stouffer Bowser, she was born February 21, 1944 in Worthington, PA.Mrs. Kirkland graduated from Eastern Westmoreland County Votech in 1985 as a home health aide.She was a volunteer with the Indiana County Alzheimer's Assoc. and helped with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Blairsville VFW.Surviving are three children, Craig "Zeak" Kirkland of Blairsville, PA, Sherri "Lucky" Smith and husband, W.D. of Indiana, PA and Lynn "Pick" Kirkland Beck of Blairsville, PA; four grandchildren, Tristin Delo, Ashley Kirkland, Jacey Kirkland and Cody Beck; and a sister, Star Libengood and husband, Jeff of Blairsville, PA.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn "Bear" Kirkland on November 7, 2000; and five brothers, James A. Bowser, Larry D. Bowser, Terry Bowser, Jerry Bowser and William Smith.The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut Street, Blairsville, PA. Services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 P.M. in the funeral home.Interment will be in Livermore Cemetery, Derry Twp., PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the Three Rivers Family Hospice, Empire Building, 2nd Floor, 3001 Jacks Run Road, White Oak, PA 15131 or to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
