Margaret Catherine Palmer Shirley, 88, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Sunday October 23, 2005 in Country Living, Blairsville, PA.A daughter of Edward A. and Finis Shannon Palmer, she was born April 10, 1917 in Black Lick, PA.Mrs. Shirley attended the Black Lick Free Methodist Church.Surviving are three sons, Jerry C. Shirley; David E. Shirley and wife, Diane and Wayne P. Shirley, all of Black Lick, PA; two daughters, Betty Prince and husband, James of Blairsville, PA and Hazel Morgan and husband, Roger of Warren, OH; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Carrie Lockard of Black Lick, PA.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence L. Shirley on November 24, 1999; a brother, David Palmer and four sisters, Mary Shirley, Ollie Shirley, Ethel Lockard and Dorothy Shirley.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Black Lick Free Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Craig officiating.Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, West Wheatfield Twp., PA.
