Derrick Stephen Muir, 26, of Torrance, PA passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2005 in Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A son of Donald E. and Stephanie M. Irwin Muir, he was born April 1, 1979 in Latrobe, PA.Derrick enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and being outdoors.He worked as a laborer.Surviving are his fiancé, Sherry L. Murphy of Torrance, PA; three children, Cheyene M., Hailey L. and Zachary S., at home; father, Donald E. Muir and wife, Michele of Seward, PA; mother, Stephanie Muir of Torrance, PA; brother, Donald Muir of Indiana, PA; two stepsisters, Melissa Gray of Numine, PA and Brianne Springer of Seward, PA; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Muir of Indiana, PA and maternal grandmother, Magdalen Irwin of Clarksburg, PA; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Muir; maternal grandfather, William Irwin Sr., and a stepsister, Amy Gray.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 P.M. with Rev. August Twigg officiating.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PAMemorial contributions may be given to the family.
