Thomas S. Roser, 83, of Homer City, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.A son of James and Agnes Donahue Roser, he was born December 23, 1921 in Homer City, PA.Mr. Roser lived his entire life in Homer City, Pa where he was a member of the Homer City United Methodist Church, life member of Indiana VFW Post #1989 and played in the Jet Tones Polka Band. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during World War II. He worked for 30 years at Syntron and retired in 1990 from Kiser Engineering with seven years of service. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Gloria B. Myers Roser whom he married June 5, 1946; three children, Hedy Rhoades of Homer City, PA; Gloria Jean Cunningham and husband, Dan of Franklinton, NC and Tom Roser and wife, Linda of Homer City, PA; four grandchildren, Kelly Berfield and husband, Chad of Homer City, PA; Jamie Rhoades of Homer City, PA; Michaela Henigin and husband, Darin of LosAngeles, CA and T.J. Roser of Blairsville, PA; two great grandchildren, Maitlyn and Brennen Berfield; two sisters, Martha Wilt and Jean Fries, both of Clarksburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Constance Roser; five brothers, Charles, Wilmer "Chip", Russell, Irvin and James Roser.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the Homer City United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph R. Stains officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion.
