Janet Claire Jeffries, 77, Indiana, PA formerly of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2005 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.A daughter of Albert J. and Mary E. Lowry Jeffries, she was born April 8, 1928 in Blairsville, PA.Janet lived the past 28 years in Indiana, PA. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Indiana, PA and AFSCME.She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1947 and worked as a custodian for IUP, retiring in 1987.Surviving are a brother, Glenn Jeffries and wife, Gayle of Butler, PA; two sisters, Lois Lore and husband, Robert of Greensburg, PA and Thelma "Teddy" Bortner of Champaign, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M.with Pastor Brad Lauster officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the Communities at Indiana Haven, 1675 Saltsburg Road, Indiana, PA 15701
