Doris Louise Shaffer Zimmerman, 77, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at her home.A daughter of Arley C. and Gladys Shoemaker Shaffer, she was born October 26, 1927 in Rural Valley, PA.Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, PA; Route 22 Singles Club; Blairsville Birthday Club and AFSCME. She graduated from Elders Ridge High School and worked for 23 years at Torrance State Hospital, retiring in 1990.Surviving are two sons, Ronald C. Zimmerman and wife, Jean of Vintondale, PA; Jeffrey A. Zimmerman of Clarksburg, PA; three daughters, Ruth Ann Zimmerman; Deborah L. Zimmerman and Brenda K. Zufall and husband, John, all of Blairsville, PA; four grandchildren, B.J. Zimmerman and special friend, Sue Grower; Meghan Zimmerman; Donald Muir and Stacy Freeman; a great grandchild, Orlandus Freeman; a brother, Harry Shaffer of Aultman, PA; six sisters, Betty McKerricker of Aultman, PA; Mary Jane Gordish of Blairsville, PA; Bessie Layton; Linda Dawson; Sara Marsh and Anna Mae Ward, all of Aultman, PA and her companion dog, Minnie.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis Zimmerman in 1988; four brothers, Jack, Robert, Thomas and Charles Shaffer and stepmother, Lillian Markel.The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Gillespie officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
